With so many opportunities to get involved at your fingertips, it can be a little tricky figuring out which opportunity is best for you. So to keep things simple, we have categorised our programs by faculty & degree, so you can pick something that will complement your studies and make you even more employable! 

Medicine & Health

So you want to help people, and you don't mind getting a little messy along the way. You're studying for a while, so you may as well throw yourself into uni life while you're here. 

  • Wellness Warriors: Be a champion of mental health and promote positive practices in the UNSW community. 
  • Phil' : Get connected with Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation and be part of the largest student philanthropy project in Australia. 
  • Checkpoint : Support the mental health of other UNSW students when they need it most. 
  • Yellow Shirts : The ultimate UNSW bucketlist item is to volunteer in this iconic program that helps first years settle in. 
  • MedSoc : Check out clubs and societies that align with your studies. MedSoc, Med Revue and RAHMS to name a few.

Business 

    We see you UNSW commerce students. You're learning to run businesses, crunch the numbers and make a difference through organisations. You're go-getters and connectors, and we have just the opportunities for you.
  • Arc Street Team : Be part of the team that brightens up campus and gives out the best free food.

  • Tax Help : Support other students completing their taxes (and get special ATO training and recognition). 
  • Arc Goes To... : Lead trips and tours around Sydney that explore all of our local treasures.

Law & Justice

There's more to law than being time-poor. You're keen to stack your resume with projects that are purpose-driven. Check out these opportunities to get involved. 

  • Suggestion Box : Collect feedback from students on the issues effecting them, and be part of change on campus. 
  • Volunteers United : Discover social justice causes that you care about and connect with local not-for-profits. 
  • Law Soc & Crim Soc : Check out clubs and societies that align with your studies. 

Engineering

So you like to fix and tinker? Keen to be more sustainable and make things work better? These programs will get your motor going and compliment your ENG1000 teamwork skills. 

  • eReuse : Help fix old computers and then hand them out to people in need. 
  • Stationery Reuse Centre : Saved from landfill, sort out our free stationery supplies and distribute them to uni students. 
  • Bike-ology : Help UNSW students fix their fixie so that we can use more pedal power at UNSW. 
  • Culture Cafe : Support others in learning about other cultures and casually practicing their Englishe language skills. 
  • Engineering Societies :  Check out clubs and societies that align with your studies. 

Science

You want to know how the world works. You don't mind a bit of number crunching and you're excited to see how concepts connect. These programs will get you connected to the earth, health and our campus community. 

  • Food Hub: If you understand the importance of nutrition for a healthy body, then help distribute groceries to those in need.

  • The Producers : Grow gardens on campus and harvest your fresh produce.

  • Framework : If you're into critical arts writing (or just want to try it) check out Framework. 
  • ArtStart : Get your start in the arts with training and practice in gallery installation.

  • UNSWeetened Literary Journal : Contribute to UNSW's poetry, short stories and prose.

The above suggestions are just recommendations for programs and opportunities that align well with degrees, but we know that students from every background come and join every program that we run, so don't hesistate to go completely outside the box with your choice.
