IGMs & Starting a New Club

Have you looked around for the club that truly speaks to you but have been unable to find it? Don't contemplate what might have been - set up a New Club!

These resources will take you through what you need to do to affiliate with Arc. There is a little bit to do at the start, but setting it up properly right at the beginning will make the rest of the process so much easier for you in the long run.

We know you're excited to get started but before we can affiliate your Club we just need you to check a few things first:

There Can Only Be One

Your Club should be original and not clash with any of the current Clubs and what they do. Have a look at our Clubs List to make sure your idea isn't already being done!

See our full list of clubs here!

Be Specific

Make sure your Aims and Objectives speak to the intended experience of what the Club would offer and be specific. If people don't know what your Club stands for, they probably won't join!

Run By & For UNSW Students

Your Club needs to be run by and for UNSW students (however, non-UNSW students can still join as affiliate members!)

Fast-Tracked Affiliation

Skip the boring admin with Fast-Tracked Affiliation! There's more details in the form below, but it's intended to get your Club up-and-running as quickly as possible!

Fast-Tracked Affiliations

Normally when a New Club is affiliating, they are required to do a range of things, such as formulate their own Constitution and find a location for their IGM and run it themselves and work out the admin processes from scratch.

With Fast-Tracked Affiliation, we aim to cut through the admin and get you to doing the fun stuff faster.

How does it work?

Well, to get your Club up and running, there’s a few steps we must follow:

Step 1: Expression of Interest to Start a Club 🆕Step 2: 30-Day Trial Period 🧪Step 3: Inaugural General Meeting 📝
Express your interest for starting a New Club by telling us what your Club is all about and what students could expect. If approved, your New Club will enter a 30 Day Trial Period. These 30 days are all about taking your idea for a test drive. We’ll then review your Trial Period and invite you to an Inaugural General Meeting (IGM) with our Arc Clubs Team.

And that’s it! Your Club will be fully set up with the necessary support, tools and resources to make your community flourish for years to come!
