Founded in 1953, the UNSW Athletics Club has a distinguished and proud tradition of achievement, producing State, National and Olympic Champions.
The Club is strong, competitive, friendly and affiliated with Athletics NSW. The team of athletes have a wide range of abilities and areas of specialisations who compete regularly in the Treloar Shield, All Comers and other Australia wide championship meets as well as the Australia University Games.
Training
When: Monday and Wednesday (Tentatively 4:15pm, 6pm)
Where: E.S Marks Athletics Track, Kensington.
How to get there: Parking on Boronia St or catch any 39_ bus, M10 or M50 bus.
Cost: $5 - council fees for using the track
Membership Costs
Training costs are $15 per session (non member) and $10 for members.
Student member (training but not competition - provides insurance): $20 + $10 per training session (entry and to coach).
Community Member (athletics NSW) (club competitions and insurance): ~$20 + $10 per training session.
Concession membership (athletics NSW) (Concession card holders or under 19 -- insurance, Athletics Australia and NSW competitions - all comps): ~ $140 + $10 per training session.
Open membership (athletics NSW) (over 20 with no concession card-- insurance, Athletics Australia and NSW competitions - all comps): ~$170 + $10 per training session. Note that these prices may change by up to $30 but we will try and keep them as low as possible.
Equipment
- Comfortable clothing and runners.
- Sprinting spikes for short-distance.
