Phil’ is Australia’s largest student-led philanthropy initiative with the aim of uniting the UNSW community behind one purposeful cause that makes a positive impact.
Each year we fundraise for the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick to support the Child Life and Music Therapy team and make a BIG difference to little kids and their families!
The therapists use music and play to help hospitalised children understand their medical procedures and make sure they don’t miss out on having a fun childhood. We combine volunteering opportunities and fundraising activities so that our university students can have fun, feel like a kid again, and help raise money for those who can't.
Since starting in 2016, Phil' has donated over $500,000 and our goal for 2024 is to raise $65,000!
Our volunteers are always doing things on campus, in the community, and for the SCHF like stalls, door knocking fundraising, and creating resources for the Child Life Music Therapy Team
Every year we sell all the lost property collected by Estate Management in the past year for charity. including clothes, tech, books, and more. This year we raised $7.8k and saved over 300 items of landwaste!
Phil' hosts food stalls at different Bunnings locations around Sydney to raise money from the wider community.
This August 13th, walk, run or jog 14kms from the city to the beach with our group to raise money for the Child life and music therapists at Sydney Childrens Hospital!
In Week 5 this term we hosted our very popular Dares for donations event! Students ate spicy noodles, waxed their bodies and faced their fears to raise over $300! All proceeds went to the Child life and music therapists at the Sydney Children's Hospital
