The government has proposed changing the age limit for TGV 485 from 50 to 35, which will significantly impact many postgraduate students. In response, the Postgraduate Council has taken several actions to advocate for our students:

What We Have Done So Far:

• Open Letter and Emails: We have published an open letter and sent emails to government ministers to highlight the potential negative effects of the proposed age limit change.
• Meetings and Joint Statement: We have met with other student bodies to address this issue and published a joint statement.
• Collaboration with Go8: We have also worked to reach the Group of Eight (Go8) universities to publish a statement supporting our cause.
• Joint Efforts with UNSW Action Group: We are working closely with the UNSW Action Group to coordinate our efforts and amplify our impact.
• Collecting Testimonials: We are collecting testimonials from affected students to strengthen our lobbying efforts.
