Arc PGC Coursework Awards 2023

About the 2023 Awards

The Arc PGC Coursework Awards in 2023 saw the relaunch of an event that acknowledges and celebrates the invaluable contributions of both students and staff to the postgraduate coursework experience, following the resounding success of the inaugural online event in 2021. Nominees, nominators, and their guests were invited to an in-person awards ceremony on June 1st, 2023 at Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW Sydney, which was marked by a keynote address delivered by Professor Attila Brungs, the Vice-Chancellor and President of UNSW Sydney. The Arc PGC Coursework Awards were also supported by Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education & Student Experience, Professor Louise Lutze-Mann, and Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, Education & Student Experience, Professor Alex Steel, who presented awards to outstanding students and staff.

We received many exceptional nominations, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the deserving award recipients. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate an outstanding student or staff member. Continuing initiatives aimed at bridging the gap between online and in-person learning experiences, and ensuring the delivery and responsiveness of feedback were common themes across nominations in 2023. Adapting to changing requirements in student assessment, and responding to them to facilitate a positive learning environment continues to trend highly in responses.

Opening Remarks by the President

Special Thanks

Our gratitude extends to the PGC Coursework Committee, whose tireless dedication and countless volunteer hours ensured fair evaluation and adherence to a stringent marking rubric during the nomination process. We express our sincere appreciation to Arc @ UNSW for their invaluable support, as these prestigious awards would not have been possible without their assistance. Lastly, the PGC would like to thank all UNSW leadership who attended or supported the Arc PGC Coursework Awards in 2023 - your continued support at these events make our university postgraduate experience truly one to be envied.
