Sponsorships & Promotions Information
What are the requirements for merchandise and promotion?
Clubs must not invite external sponsors to promote at O-Week or host any events/activities
- If an external sponsor would like to host an event or activity, please kindly direct them to Arc's Sponsorship & Advertising team www.arc.unsw.edu.au/about/sponsorship-advertising
- Clubs must also not promote for external sponsors – O-Week is about promoting YOUR CLUB!
- i.e. you can promote your on-going partnership with a company as part of your offering to students, but not their latest products
- Similarly you cannot hand out fliers or promotional material on behalf of any external organisations.
You cannot hand out sponsor merchandise unless they are part of a Club branded membership offerings
- Club branded membership offerings can be in the form of custom Club bags or unbranded paper bags (Please avoid the use of plastic for sustainability reasons)
- If you choose to hand out sponsored merch, your offering must have a variety of sponsors' merch (More than 1 company's merch)
No merchandise or promotional material of any kind is permitted from companies that encourage academic misconduct.
- Any Clubs found with merch/material from these companies will be issued a strike and have merch/material confiscated.
- This is because these services violate UNSW's Academic Integrity policies
Don't risk the strike, if you are unsure as to whether your promotions breaches these rules, email oweekclubs@arc.unsw.edu.au ahead of O-Week for peace of mind
Stall Food Information
Food must be served by Club members (No self-service food)
Food must be stored and kept away from areas where people will be (i.e. not at the front of the stall)
All food items must be included in your Risk Assessment
Food safety certificate required if you are cooking food
- (Minimum Food Handler Certificate SITXFSA101) - this will be checked at your stall!
- If food requires no preparation (i.e. a banana) this is not required
All utensils and plates MUST be biodegradable or re-usable - no disposable plastic (compostable bio-plastic is permitted)
Clubs should be knowledgeable about their foods and ingredients particularly if it contains allergens
