Carrots are a delicious and nutritious vegetable that you don't even have to cook to enjoy! They're a good fibre source and low in fat. Did you know carrots can be purple, white, yellow and even black?
Storing raw carrots
- If the carrots have green tops, cut them off.
- Keep the carrots dry and wash your carrots before using them.
- If you want to store peeled carrots, keep them totally in water and in the fridge. Change the water when it gets cloudy!
- Carrots have gone bad if they are smelly, slimy, dark and/or mouldy. If your carrots are soft, submerge them in cold water to bring them back to life!
Cleaning carrots

- Wash your carrot under water and clean off any dirt.
- Cut off the top of the carrot stem.
- Peel your carrots with a vegetable peeler (optional).
