Level Up Your Skills

Did you know that you can get a job from having fun?

Okay, maybe it’s not that simple, but every hour you spend with us helps you gain valuable skills to grow, develop, and make your resume shine! Think of things such as teamwork, communication, public speaking, leadership, project management, and technical skills, too.

To help you land that dream job, we also offer LinkedIn headshots, skill-translation sessions run by UNSW Employability, and other career development opportunities exclusive to our volunteers.

Get Recognised

Your hard work deserves to be recognised!

  • Complete 20+ hours of volunteering to earn AHEGS, a recognition that enhances your university transcript and showcases your commitment to co-curricular activities.

  • Dedicate 50+ or 100+ hours, or take on more responsibility as a senior volunteer and you’ll be awarded a digital badge to showcase online as part of our microcredentialing initiative.

  • Go the extra mile, and you could be honoured with an Arc Volunteer Award, which annually celebrates those who truly stand out.

Make An Impact

One of Arc’s core values is “Do Good Things” and that’s exactly what volunteering with us is – making a difference in everything we do and not just what we do, but how we do it too. Whether it's giving back to the UNSW community, the local community, helping the planet, celebrating diversity, or helping students practise their passions, each and every volunteer makes an impact to others. If that warm and fuzzy feeling isn’t enough to convince you, check out some of the good that volunteers made in 2024:

  • Phil’ fundraised $115,764 for the Sydney Children's Hospital Child Life and Music Therapy Team in 2024

  • Yellow Shirts helped to create the biggest O-Week in the Southern Hemisphere with volunteers facilitating 44,966 engagements in Term 1 O-Week

  • Check Point gave out 14,006 sandwiches, muesli bars, breakfasts, and cups of tea collectively to students

Have some fun

Our volunteers deserve more than just a thank you—they deserve to be celebrated. Your time, energy, and dedication are the heart of what we do, and we make sure you feel the love with:

  • Termly thank-you parties filled with food, drinks, and good vibes.

  • Exclusive volunteer activities and socials where fun and connection are always on the agenda.

  • The prestigious Volunteer Awards Night, a dazzling evening dedicated to honouring the exceptional efforts of our volunteers.
