In Term 1 of 2024, Arc Goes To went to Chowder Bay. We took the ferry from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo wharf and commenced with the hike from there. Though the hike was going to be quite short, there was a lot of people that showed up and I absolutely loved the buzz of energy and excitement that everyone brought with them and kept throughout the day. I have done a few hikes before including the popular Bondi to Coogee walk and in spite of this hike not being as famous, I thoroughly enjoyed it and am glad that I went because I never would have known about the trail if weren’t for AGT.
Some highlights of the trip included breathing in the fresh air, immersing myself in everything that mother nature had to offer, and taking a dip in the ocean at the end. Having said all of that, this trip was one of my favorites not merely because of the destination, but mostly because of the company of people that was there, supporting the cliché of how it’s not about the destination, but the friends we make along the way. I came out with lasting friendships with people who share my interests and whom I continue to hang out with today. And to think that I almost missed the ferry that morning. If I had, I wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to connect and bond with all those lovely humans in the first place.
