What This Means for Clubs & Societies
Arc Clubs has been working diligently with the Australian Taxation Office, the Student Experience Network and our accountants to receive accurate and up-to-date advice on how these changes will affect Clubs at UNSW.
In doing so, we have categorised ALL Clubs into one of five categories. Each of these categories will require different steps to ensure compliance with the measures. From the 4th of July 2024, your Club Executive will have been sent an email titled "[IMPORTANT] Tax Reporting Changes for Arc Clubs" which includes the category and recommendations Arc Clubs believes your Club will best fit.
The five categories are:
- Clubs that have an ABN that are registered with ACNC
- Clubs that have an ABN that are not registered with ACNC
- Clubs that have an ABN that cannot claim Income Tax Exemption
- Clubs that do not have an ABN that cannot claim Income Tax Exemption
- Clubs that do not have an ABN
Below you can find the advice we have received for each of these categories.
