Minutes – meeting with Vanessa (4###sup/sup### May 2023)
1. Matter was raised on the issue of ARC keys.
a. Vanessa will remind Reem about it.
b. Tristan Kelly might be having copies. Vanessa asked us to contact him.
2. Tiger informed Vanessa of Reem possessing Arc camera.
a. Vanessa will remind Reem of that as well.
3. Tentative budget for 2023-24 was shared.
a. Tiger also shared finance report of 2021-22
4. Vanessa informed us that SAS will top up $13k balance with $22k from SAS.
a. She informed us that she will have to figure out the source of SAS funding to Arc.
5. We discussed breakdown of previous Arc executive briefly.
a. Vanessa informed that university does not have a role in Arc’s functioning as it is an ‘independent’ student club. This is how Sanket wanted it to be. It is Arc’s responsibility to maintain functioning system.
b. She displayed optimism in association of Arc Sydney and Canberra Student Club. It can act as a consultative and mentoring body.
c. She expressed her confidence in Arc’s functioning at the moment.
6. Matter of 2hr casual pay for executive committee was raised.
a. The amount of work put in by executive, pay acting as an incentive and token pay to PGC coordinator was raised as a reason for Arc executive to be paid.
b. Vanessa assured that she would discuss the matter with Emma, rector of UNSW Canberra.
7. SAS, ALL and EDI units of the university are preparing an annual plan for student engagement. It will be shared with Arc and we will be kept in loop so that Arc can work together with the university for student wellbeing.
8. Tiger suggested that Arc would be willing to welcome incoming students into Canberra. We agreed to stay in touch on this matter.
9. Issue of the refrigerator was raised. It was made clear that Arc is responsible for the state of the appliances in the Arc room.
