UNSW’s own SPREE (Gemma Lipman) has exploded onto the scene with her debut single ‘I Do What I Want’. It’s a dark, industrial tune with badass lyrics that make you feel unstoppable. It’s rife with a chaotic energy bubbling just beneath the surface of its dirty, pulsing beat. As manic as it sounds, it’s clear ‘I Do What I Want’ has been made with incredible precision. When listening with headphones, the sounds arranged the left and right channels create an disorienting, immersive experience. It creates the experience of dancing wildly and uncaringly, illuminated by strobe lights.

As the funky beats envelop you, it’s impossible to resist the urge to dance. And while those dance moves may not be all that attractive, this song will spur you on and make you feel invincible. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, you keep doing what you want.
