In the parade’s 44th year, the Roundhouse wishes you a happy Mardi Gras! This year, with the parade being held at the Sydney Cricket Grounds due to COVID-19 restrictions, your pre’s and afters was closer than ever at the Roundhouse. 

Despite being moved from the traditions on Oxford Street to the SCG, nothing stopped celebrations with vibrant hairstyles, makeup and outfits to support. Our team at the Roundhouse started Mardi Gras with our own ‘Mardi Pardi,’ full of drink deals, live music and lots of love. 

With the festival theme ‘United We Shine,’ Mardi Pardi was lucky to be joined by folk music artist Oly Sherman perform for us live at the Roundhouse before getting into more and more celebration! To end, the Roundhouse also hosted What goes Bump in the Night Pardi Gras with Heaps Gay, splitting the party into partying in the east and partying in the west! 

Selling out in the first week of Mardi Gras and an extended open with some cheeky extra spaces, the Roundhouse celebrated the iconic event with Sydney’s top drag queens and LGBTIQA+ acts.
